Due to COVID-19, since March of 2020, we have provided our parent-assisted PEERS® groups for Teens and Young Adults in an online format. We are thrilled to say our online programs have gone very well. It is deeply important to us to do our best to meet the needs of each family during these challenging times. Teens and young adults are still developing emotionally and socially, regardless of the state of the world, and it is vital they get the services they need to facilitate their healthy development.
Our online programs are also a great option for folks in rural areas or who would otherwise have difficulty commuting to our Denver office.
PEERS® Denver programs online offer:
-Quality teaching and supervision that allows participants to continue to develop socially despite social distancing practices
-Power points and video role plays for each lesson
-Breakout room's online with support of our coaches for teens to practice behavioral rehearsals
-Virtual get togethers assigned with other group members to keep teens interactional skills improving over the summer
-The same extra support parents receive in their social coaching endeavor as they would receive in our office-based program
-Extra weekly coaching calls with teens and parents
-Convenience of not having to travel and offering those outside the Denver Metro area access to the most effective social skills interventions that are offered
